My passion is finding items, and my joy is bringing them to you.

I’m Matthew Connar, the treasure hunter and curator behind The Adventure Room. My passion for collecting vintage treasures has been with me for years. After selling my digital marketing agency, BOOST Creative, in August 2024—a company I built from the ground up since 2002—I decided to turn my love for unique finds into a full-time pursuit. I have a physical space at Paradise Vintage Market in Southwest Florida, but this website offers you a deeper look into my collection. I update my inventory weekly, so be sure to check back often. If you have any questions about my pieces, feel free to reach out. My specialties include Polynesian, Tribal, Mid-century Modern, and Atomic Age items, with a particular fondness for the 1950s and 60s. But I have an appreciation for all eras that beautifully blend style and history.

Though I now call Florida home, I proudly hold onto my Maryland roots. What’s not to love about a state where jousting is the official sport? I grew up at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains, often getting lost in nature’s wonders. My journey as a creative professional began at West Virginia University, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art with a focus on Graphic Design in 1999.

In 2002, I founded BOOST Creative, a venture that saw steady growth over the next two decades. Under my leadership, we served over 500 clients and completed more than 15,000 projects. As creative director, I played a hands-on role in every project.

After the sale of BOOST Creative, I rebranded as Connar Enterprises to explore new opportunities. My first venture was TruLogos where I narrowed my marketing skill set down to just creating brand identities. I help businesses and organizations of all sizes brand, re-brand, celebrate anniversaries, or promote special events with the single most important brand element, the logo.

The Adventure Room has been a long time in the making. It started as a way to support my own collecting habits, but soon I realized I had an eye for interesting products and a knack for finding them. I take great joy in not just hunting down these treasures, but also researching their history and stories. Whether I'm traveling near or far, I’m always searching and sourcing. Since I can’t keep everything, I share these finds with you.

Beyond branding and vintage, I also create original artwork under the alias Matty Rocket. My first 4 prints are available for sale right here in the Adventure Room.

As a serial entrepreneur with a proven track record, I take pride in my work—but my greatest joy comes from my family, which includes my wonderful wife and our four children.
