This stunning antique puzzle pot, also known as a Longevity pot, showcases exceptional craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal. Originating from the Kangxi period, the puzzle pot tradition began in the 17th century, typically used as wine pots but sometimes as teapots. While this particular piece is a later version, it is believed to date from the late 19th century.
This teapot is in good vintage condition, with some expected signs of age, including crazing and a small chip on the tip of the spout. It is also missing its lid. Please refer to the photos for more detailed views. As a rare collectible, very few of these pots are offered for sale, and the price reflects its unique nature and condition.
The pot measures approximately 8" H x 9" W (handle and spout) x 2.5" D, making it an intriguing and elegant addition to any collection.
