This set of four vintage glass stacking bowls, designed by the legendary Joe Colombo for Arno in the 1960s, is a stunning example of Italian modernist design. Each bowl features double handles and is stamped with "Italy" and a star on the bottom. Colombo, a visionary who helped define Italian modernism, was renowned for his focus on systems, functionality, and striking aesthetics. Tragically, his life was cut short on his 41st birthday in 1971, leaving a legacy of designs that are now celebrated in permanent collections at prestigious institutions like the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Design Museum in London, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In good vintage condition, these bowls are both practical and collectible. Each bowl measures approximately 2.75" in height, 4.5" in width, and 4.25" in depth, and when stacked together, the set reaches a height of 8.5". A perfect addition for any mid-century modern enthusiast or design collector.
