#2091
This beautifully decorated Shoza-style Kutani porcelain teapot features a striking gilded design of birds and clouds, set against a red oxide glaze over white porcelain. Likely made in the mid-20th century, around the late 1950s to mid-1960s, this teapot exudes the elegance of classic Japanese craftsmanship.
Originally intended for high-grade gyokuro tea, which is traditionally served in small sips to savor its delicate flavor, this teapot would also make a stunning display piece even if you don’t plan to use it for tea.
In good vintage condition, it shows some signs of wear consistent with age, including a few "flea bites" (see photos for details). Dimensions: 6" W (with handle) x 4" H x 5.5" D (with spout). A beautiful addition to any collection, whether for display or use.
