Namji Dolls, also known as Dowayo Dolls, are traditional fertility dolls originating from the Namji tribe of North Cameroon. Dating back to as early as the 1940s, these dolls are carved from African rosewood and hold deep cultural significance. Given to brides during wedding ceremonies, Namji Dolls are believed to possess powerful charms that enhance fertility, ward off evil spirits, prevent infertility, and ensure smooth labor and delivery. The dolls are carried by the bride as a symbol of good luck, often kept in her purse or cloth. In good vintage condition, with wear consistent with age. Please refer to the photos for more details. The doll measures approximately 8.25" H x 3.75" W x 4" D.
